We will restructure NHIS- Hon. Kwaku Agyeman-Manu

The Minister for Health, Hon. Kwaku Agyeman-Manu said he is looking forward to the restructuring of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) as soon as possible for the benefit of the Ghanaian populace.

According to him, because of his experience with the National Health Insurance Authority, he will offer his expertise and leadership role to see to the improvement of the scheme.

The Minister for Health made this known at a Staff durbar held in his honour to officially welcome him to the ministry.

He encouraged staff to work harder than before. Thus “be recognized by the work you do and also work in unity with one another to achieve a positive result” he added.

The Hon Minister has expressed his willingness to work assiduously in the ministry for development.

He assured staff that he has come to learn and to bring to bear on the job the knowledge and skills, “I am one person who learn quickly”, he said.

Hon. Agyemang Manu stated that the change we are all looking for will depend on how everyone would work especially by changing ones attitudes towards work and remained committed, that is what would bring the change everyone is talking about.

The Minister asked staff not to be shy to criticize but be diplomatic to manage their internal affairs and will make sure all stakeholders and everyone working in the health sector is satisfied.
