TTH Board Inaugurated
The Minister of Health, Hon. Kwaku Agyeman-Manu has inaugurated the governing board of the Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH) at a ceremony in Tamale.
The 11-member board, which is chaired by Mr. Mahmoud Hamid Nassir-Deen, comprised Dr. David Zawumya Kolbila, Chief Administrator of TTH, Professor A Abantanga, Dean of UDS Medical School, Dr. Abass Adam, a medical doctor, Mr. George A. Atampugre, Director of Administration, TTH, and Mrs. Dangnikuu Evelyn-Eda, Director of Nursing Services
The rest were Mr Kuuri Karim, Director of Finance, Pharm. Hamidu Abdulai, Director of Pharmacy, Nana Kwabena Adjei-Mensah, Chief Director, MoH, Ms Clara Tia Sulemana.
Administering the Oath of Office and the Oath of Secrecy to board members, Hon. Agyeman-Manu tasked the board to put to an end, the myriads of challenges that confronted the hospital before the inauguration.
He urged the new TTH management to introduce new services to their range of services since the government, under the Phase II project of the Tamale Teaching Hospital, was going to hand over an expanded hospital, with new facilities, to serve the northern region and beyond.
In his welcome address, the Chief Administrator of TTH, Dr David Zawumya Kolbila, said the Hospital struggled to operate without a governing board and is very delighted the board has been constituted and will be inaugurated.
He was optimistic that with the expertise serving on the Board, they will be able to achieve the vision of TTH and make the place a centre of excellence in the provision of tertiary services.
Mr Mahmoud Hamid Nassir-Deen, on behalf of the Board members, thanked the Minister for giving them the opportunity to serve on the Board.
