Hon. Agyeman-Manu calls on Awoamefia

As part of the three-day tour of the Volta Region, the Minister for Health, Hon. Kwaku Agyeman-Manu, paid a courtesy call on the Awoamefia of the Anlo State, Torgbui Sri III at his palace in Anloga.

The purpose of his visit was to interact with the overlord of the Anlo people to explain his mission in the region.

Interacting with Togbui Sri III, Hon. Agyeman-Manu described his visit to the region as an inspection tour of project sites and health facilities, and a way to motivate staff of agencies under his ministry to improve performance.

He reiterated the vision of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s, which he described as promotion of quality health care services to the people of Ghana. The strategy the government adopted, the Minister said, was to provide health facilities very close to the people to enable easy access.

The Awoamefia thanked the Minister for the visit and appealed to the Ministry to consider establishing a district hospital in Anloga, since the population of the municipality has outgrown the health care facilities currently available to the people.

According to Awoamefia, the highest facility in the municipality is a health centre.

He was optimistic that the government will listen to their appeal since President Akufo-Addo’s government is a listening government.
