Health Minister tours project sites in Ashanti Region

The Minister for Health, Hon. Kwaku Agyeman-Manu, today started a two-day working visit to the Ashanti Region. The visit would allow the Health Minister to assess progress of work on new health facilities under construction in the region.

On the first day of his visit, Hon. Agyeman-Manu, paid a courtesy call on the Regional Minister, Hon. Simon Osei Mensah. Their discussions centered on improvement in healthcare delivery in the region.

Project sites the Health Minister visited included the new Bekwai Municipal Hospital, Formena-Adansi District Hospital, Ashanti Regional Hospital project at Sewua, and the Kumasi South Municipal Hospital.

Addressing the media after the visit to the sites, Hon. Agyeman-Manu expressed his satisfaction at the level of work done, and urged the contractors to expedite work on the projects to meet the deadlines they have set.

The Minister for Health was accompanied by Director of Infrastructure at Ministry, Mr. Ben Nkansah, Director-General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr. Patrick Kumah-Aboagye, and Ashanti Regional Director of Health Services, Dr. Emmanuel Tenkorang.
