US AMBASSADOR CALLS ON HEALTH MINISTER TO DISCUSS USAID FUNDING AND HEALTHCARE IMPROVEMENTS

The United States Ambassador to Ghana, Her Excellency Virginia E. Palmer, has paid a courtesy visit to the newly appointed Minister for Health, Hon. Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, at his office in Accra.
The meeting focused on discussions surrounding the withdrawal of USAID funding and other critical issues to enhance healthcare delivery in Ghana.
During the visit, Ambassador Palmer congratulated the minister on his new appointment and encouraged him to prioritize efforts to strengthen the country’s health sector.
She reassured him that despite the withdrawal of USAID funding, Ghana’s healthcare system would not face immediate setbacks, as alternative interventions were being implemented to mitigate any potential challenges.
In response, Hon. Mintah Akandoh expressed his gratitude to the Ambassador for her visit and her assurances.
He emphasized that the government had already implemented strategic measures to sustain and improve healthcare services across the country.
The minister further reaffirmed his commitment to building a resilient and efficient healthcare system for all Ghanaians.
