The Minister for Health, Hon. Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has inspected a consignment of 24,534 medical equipment set to be deployed across the country as part of preparations for the commencement of the government\u2019s free primary healthcare initiative.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The equipment, procured by government is expected to be distributed to health facilities nationwide to strengthen service delivery and improve access to essential healthcare.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

These equipment include the following:<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
1. Baby incubators, radiant warmers, and oxygen concentrators for resuscitating newborns after delivery.<\/div>\n
2. X ray Machines<\/div>\n
3. \u2060Vital sign monitors for checking blood pressure, temperature, etc.<\/div>\n
4. \u2060Glucometers for measuring blood sugar levels for diabetes screening.<\/div>\n
5. \u2060Patient monitors.<\/div>\n
6. \u2060Infusion devices.<\/div>\n
7. \u2060Laboratory analysers, etc.<\/div>\n
8. \u2060Delivery beds.<\/div>\n
9. \u2060Hospital beds<\/div>\n
10. \u2060Ultra sound<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The intervention forms a key part of efforts to ensure that primary healthcare services are readily available and accessible to all Ghanaians.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

According to the Minister, the distribution exercise is aimed at retooling government hospitals and enhancing their capacity to deliver quality care.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

He noted that the initiative reflects government\u2019s dedication to building a resilient healthcare system that prioritizes preventive care and early treatment.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The rollout of the equipment is anticipated to significantly boost the efficiency of healthcare delivery at the primary level, paving the way for the successful implementation of the free primary healthcare policy.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
