The Ministry of Health has received MEPCEP training equipment, advanced simulation models, and family planning commodities from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) to strengthen midwifery education and reproductive health services.<\/p>\n

Valued at close to GHS 40 million, the support is part of UNFPA\u2019s long-standing partnership with Ghana to improve maternal health outcomes.<\/p>\n

UNFPA Country Representative Dr. Wilfred Ochan stated that the investment will enhance practical training for midwives, increase access to family planning, and contribute to reducing maternal deaths nationwide.<\/p>\n

He noted that more than one million couples have benefitted from UNFPA-supplied contraceptives this year, helping prevent unintended pregnancies and saving hundreds of lives.<\/p>\n

Upon receiving the equipment, Deputy Minister for Health Dr. Grace Ayensu Danquah thanked UNFPA for its continued support and stated that the resources will significantly enhance the quality of midwifery training across Ghana.<\/p>\n

She emphasized that the Ministry expects beneficiary institutions to use the equipment solely for skills development and maintain strict accountability.<\/p>\n
