Deputy Minister of Health, Prof. Dr Grace Ayensu-Danquah<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span>, has led discussions with Mr John Humphreys, His Majesty\u2019s Trade Commissioner for Africa, as part of efforts to advance Ghana\u2013UK health sector partnerships.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Prof. Dr Grace Ayensu-Danquah<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span> outlined Ghana\u2019s health sector priorities, including Free Primary Health Care, the Ghana Medical Trust Fund (Mahama Cares), and targeted improvements in health infrastructure, non-communicable disease management, emergency response systems, and vaccine manufacturing.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

She reaffirmed the Ministry\u2019s commitment to preventive and promotive healthcare at the community level through CHPS compounds and other primary health care initiatives. She further emphasized government\u2019s focus on reducing mortality linked to non-communicable diseases and expanding access to lifesaving treatments such as dialysis.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Mr Humphreys commended Ghana\u2019s progress and expressed the UK government\u2019s readiness to deepen collaboration in strengthening the health sector. He cited the recent UK\u2013Ghana Health Trade Roadshow, which successfully connected Ghanaian healthcare buyers with British companies specializing in medical technology, training, and services.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Both sides discussed opportunities for cooperation in key areas, including health infrastructure, biomedical engineering, vaccine manufacturing, ethical health workforce migration, and digital health systems.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
