Commonwealth Health Ministers met at World Health Assembly

Commonwealth Health Ministers attending the 2019 World Health Assembly in Geneva, Switzerland, today met at the sideline of the conference.

The purpose of the meeting was to review and set agendas for Commonwealth member countries worldwide.

The meeting discussed health systems of member states, and sought to set and adopt a common agenda to promote the health sectors of member states.

It was on the theme: “Sustainable Financing To Achieve Universal Health Coverage”, a theme that run through most commonwealth member states.

Addressing participants, Ghana’s Minister for Health, Hon Kwaku Agyeman-Manu underlined the need for donor partners to channel their support towards the achievement of Primary Health Care.

This, he observed, will better serve the nation instead of the focus of their resources only on consultants to carryout research, and donations towards mental health issues.
