Antimicrobial Resistance Multi Partner Trust Fund (AMR MPTF) launched

The Minister for Health, Hon. Kwaku Agyeman-Manu has launched the Antimicrobial Resistance Multi Partner Trust Fund (AMR MPTF).
The objective of the launch is to implement the AMR MPTF project activities in Ghana through the National Action Plan (NAP). The aspiration of the AMR MPTF is to ensure commitment to the principles of one health, which are communication, coordination and collaboration, in a Holistic manner across human, animal and environmental health in curbing the threat of AMR.
Hon. Agyeman-Manu in his address said, Ghana is currently a successful grantee of the AMR MPTF and the funds will be geared towards implementation of the activities under the NAP, which is in line with the objectives of the AMR MPTF.
The Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), pledged to fully collaborate with other tripartite organization, which are the World Health Organisation (WHO), World Organisationfor AnimalHealth (OIE). They also pledged to collaborate with the government and non-governmental bodies as major stakeholders in the AMR MPTF project to further promote One Health approach in tackling AMR.
