President John Dramani Mahama has launched the Ministry of Health’s National Medical Outreach Services dubbed “ONUADO” which means “love your neighbor” at the Sekondi Naval Base.
The services will cover communities in forty-three districts under the phase one.
They include six districts each in the Western and Volta Regions, three each in the Eastern, Greater Accra, Brong Ahafo and Ashanti, five in the Northern and four each in the Upper West and Upper East Regions.
President Mahama also inaugurated eight vehicles to be used for the programme.
He said government has so far spent one billion dollars on all health facilities. President Mahama noted that the Medical Outreach Services will cater for the unserved areas of the country.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Health, Alex Segbefia says the launch of the Medical Outreach Services fall in line with government’s decentralisation process.
